Our Services : Research : Patent Research Order Confirmation

Thank you for your patent research request.  We would like to take this opportunity to get you oriented to our patent research practice. We are happy to get started expeditiously on your case. 

For work to proceed, please follow these next steps:
  1. Complete and submit to us the included invention disclosure form (IDF) suitable for us to base and effective search on.  You can download the required questionnaire, the invention description form (IDF), at this link:

    If you have a non-Windows computer this form might not let you edit the fields.  If so, please contact us to send you a suitable file format.
  2. Simply answer the questions in the IDF in your own plain-English words; yet, for the best quality, be sure to go into as much detail as possible.
  3. Skip any questions that you believe do not apply to your situation.
  4. You can email your completed IDF and drawings to secure@bayareaip.com
     or FAX to (775) 402-1238
  5. When you email us the IDF please be sure to send it such that it is not blocked from our copying  text from it.
  6. Please do not say "see photos/drawings/attachment" to
    answer any questions, except the question requesting you attach drawings.
  7. Please be sure to follow up by phone if you do not get an email confirmation within 2 days (in case SPAM filters blocked or diverted your submission).  Likewise, if you FAX or mail in your IDF then follow up to confirm by phone w/in 2 days of when we should have received it.  Your follow up call will help avoid any inadvertent delays.
