Mr. Yan is a Licensed Attorney with the Lawyer's Association in Mainland China .  He has Bachelor in Law/LLB, China Political Science and Law, Beijing P.R. China and a Master in Law, Chicago Kent College of Law, Chicago U.S.A.

Mr. Yan has served more than 20 multinational enterprises, providing legal support in over 100 direct investment cases and M&A cases.

Mr. Yan has a comprehensive command of the legal systems in Mainland China; esp. in the context patent protection for Chinese firms seeking patent protection in the US, and US companies seeking patent protection in China.  Mr. Yan is well connected with key legal, industry, and government networks in China, and maintains regular contacts with important officials Shanghai, Beijing, New York and Chicago.  Mr. Yan is very familiar with the local China market conditions, and provides support for companies from a start-up to a mature corporation.

His extensive experience includes Baker & McKenzie’s China Practice Group (AIAL), Shanghai P.R. China in there Corporate Compliance and M & A division where he led their practice group and managed large client accounts and liaised with the government.  He additionally reviewed and drafted many of their M&A transactional agreements and corporate compliance documents.  His practice management included over 20 global companies in over 100 cases for their businesses in Mainland China.

Prior to Mr. Yan's very productive time at Baker & McKenzie, he practiced law at the Beijing Hua Tang Law Firm, Beijing P.R. China.  His practice there included M&A and Clean Development Mechanism Program where he Handled and completed six (6) M&A cases and dozens of FDI cases.  He also gained excellent expertise in drafting documents for M&A cases, conducting legal research, and effectively managing meetings with corporate executives and legal team representatives.
