Confirmation : PCT Getting Started
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Bay Area Intellectual Property Group, LLC (Bay Area IP or BAIP). We are available to assist you at each step through the process towards our filing your PCT patent application. Please do not ever hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns that may come up from time to time. In general, however, if you do not get a response to your email within 3 days it may have either gotten buried in the 100's of emails we receive daily, or we may have improperly prioritized our response time. If your email relates to something very urgent, then please put "*** URGENT**" in the beginning of the subject line. In any case, if you have a matter that we am not responding to fast enough (give us at least 2-3 days if not urgent), please resend the email so we know it is important to promptly reply, and if that does not work then please call us directly.
To start work, we require the following:
- full legal contact info (name, address, phone, FAX, etc.) for all inventors and any assignees (e.g., company),
- an indication of which are owners too (if any) to be designated as applicants in the PCT application,
- editable MS WORD doc copy of the lanew test patent specification/claims filed for the patent, and the lanew test corresponding drawings filed, or your indication to use files we may already have (e.g., if we filed your parent case).
- Indicate which drawing Figure should be used by the PCT office for the cover page of the PCT publication; i.e., which Figure is the simplest, most representative figure showing the invention.
To begin the process, please download the service agreement required to engage us for work by click on one of the following links that matches the number of inventors/owners in the patent (NOTE: if you use WORD 2007 or newer, let us know and we will send it to you in the new "docx" format):
http://www.bayareaip.com/forms/TOS_1_inventor.doc (Service Agreement for 1 inventor)
http://www.bayareaip.com/forms/TOS_2_inventors.doc (Service Agreement for 2 inventors)
http://www.bayareaip.com/forms/TOS_3_inventors.doc (Service Agreement for 3 inventors)
http://www.bayareaip.com/forms/TOS_4_inventors.doc (Service Agreement for 4
inventors)
Given that you have paid electronically, you may FAX or email a copy (including all pages) to docketing@bayareaip.com now to get your case docketed, then after we approve it, please soon snail mail in the original. Note that while we can intitially docket a case with a soft copy (e.g., FAX or scan), actual patent work requires the hardcopy. Please note that all inventors and assignees in the patent must sign/date (and initial all of the pages) the service agreement.
If you have any problems accessing the files, let us know, and we will send it to you as as an email attachment instead. Downloading is usually less problematic.
