Confirmation : Patent Search Order

You MUST email your completed IDF and drawings to secureIDF@bayareaip.com. Drawings may be FAXed to us.

Legal Confidentiality Statement: As for all Registered Patent Attorneys, our firm is licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and is legally bound by Title 37 of the Code of Federal Regulations (Section 10.57) to maintain the stricnew test confidentiality with respect to invention submissions.

NOTICE: Once you submit your questionnaire form generally NO updates or addendums thereafter are possible because we almost instantly proceed to working on your patent research. So, before you send us your submission you should be double sure that it is final and ready to be worked upon. Also, nearly all patent search submissions have drawings, sketches, or diagrams so your search job will usually be put on hold until with receive some kind of drawings or your written instructions (e.g., by email, mail, or FAX) that you are not submitting any drawings because they are not needed or helpful to understand your invention/innovation for the research work, unless we can determine sketches are not needed/helpful.

The best is if you submit your IDF by reply to our soon-to-come email, and always be sure to follow up by phone if you do not get a confirmation within 2 days (in case SPAM filters blocked or diverted your submission). Likewise, if you FAX in your drawings then follow up to confirm by phone w/in 2 days of when we should have received it. Your follow up call will help avoid any inadvertent delays.

Please be sure that the IDF discloses the full scope and nature of your invention. The combination of your written description and drawing must clearly set forth what is novel about your invention. The IDF should not only describe and show the novel features of your invention, but it should also teach how it differs from prior products or methods.

Please be advised that for us to be efficient, and, thus, for your search quality level to be effective, we require you to fill in our IDF for the research.

If your invention is a software or some kind of method, we generally prefer to have drawings showing the basic software architecture (i.e., interconnected modules) and a flow chart showing the algorithm. Clear hand sketches are OK.

For an efficient process, here is a summary of instructions to please follow:
1.   Complete and submit to us the included invention disclosure
form (IDF) suitable for us to base and effective search on. Simply
answer the questions in the IDF in your own plain-English words; yet,
for the best quality, be sure to go into as much detail as possible.
2.   You MUST email your completed IDF and drawings to secureIDF@bayareaip.com. Drawings may be FAXed to (775) 402-1238 .
3.   Be sure to send your IDF such that it is not blocked from our copying
text from it.
4.   Please do not say "see photos/drawings/attachment"; to
answer any questions, except the question requesting you attach
drawings.
